What are Negative Ions?

In everyday life, the human body is surrounded by ions. These ions have a significant influence on our bodies. Electronic devices, computers and lightning are just some examples of areas where we are exposed to a profuse amount of positive ions.

As everyone knows, our bodies are made up of molecules, or more specifically, smaller particles called atoms.  These atoms have a positive (proton) and negative (electron) charge.  An atom becomes a negative ion when it gains an extra electron. Surrounding chemicals, metals and toxic substances can contain positive ions, which we take in through our food and drink consumption, and even by simply breathing.  Generally speaking, the human body requires more negative than positive ions, to facilitate functionality, as these positive ions can cause us to feel lethargic, tired, less energetic, or simply off-balance.

Studies have varied over the years as to whether or not negative ions can help the body.  We here at Just a Sec thought we’d try it ourselves to see if the negative ion feature would be worth integrating into our bands.  Although we can only speak from our own experience, hopefully you’ll see for yourself why we’ve decided to add this additional feature.  Just a Sec Bands have 15% negative ions.
